T-Mobile is the exclusive dealer of the
T-Mobile Dash, a smartphone device manufactured by HTC. T-Mobile locks the
subscriber identity module (SIM) in the Dash to prevent you from inserting
another network's SIM card and using the phone on another network. To unlock
the SIM, you need the unlock code. You can ask T-Mobile for a free one or buy
one from an unlock code retailer.
Instructions
1. Turn the T-Mobile Dash off. Lift the back
cover off the back of the handset. Remove the battery from the compartment.
2. Insert the non-T-Mobile SIM card into the
slot with the gold contacts facing down and the cut-off corner facing right.
Push the SIM card in until it clicks into place.
3. Replace the battery and the back cover on
the handset. Turn on the T-Mobile Dash.
4. Press "Enter" when the screen
tells you that the phone does not recognize the SIM card. Enter the SIM unlock
code on the next page. Press "Enter."
Tips & Warnings
T-Mobile offers free SIM unlock codes to
customers that meet their requirements. Contact T-Mobile customer care for more
information on whether your account qualifies.
The wrong SIM unlock code can damage your
T-Mobile Dash. It only gives you a limited number of attempts to enter the
correct code. If the handset has not unlocked in three attempts, contact the
source of your SIM unlock code for troubleshooting help.
